Scrap PPAs or face protest

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today said if the Congress failed to cancel the “anti-people” power purchase agreements (PPAs) inked by the previous Badal government with companies during the upcoming Budget session, it would hold a protest outside CM Capt Amarinder Singh’s Patiala residence.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the party MLAs, chaired by Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema, here.

Cheema said the victory of AAP in Delhi was the victory of its performance agenda against the “communal and divisive forces” that were hell bent on destroying the social fabric of the country. The party would repeat Delhi victory in Punjab, he claimed.
